This hair dryer was alright, not really fantastic. It dried my hair, not sure if it added shine or whatever since I've been switching styling products. After 18 months, it broke. Something went wrong with the wiring. At first I could use it if I held the cord a certain way, but after a few days of this, it went completely kaput. Aside from this, the dryer is VERY heavy and this became even more apparent after I purchased a new, much lighter product. Overall, there are many better hair dryers out there, and in general, I am not so impressed with the whole Ionic/Ceramic technology.

I have been very pleased with this hair dryer. Previously, I had always purchased a "ConAir" type dryer that was under and lasted about two to three years. I decided to upgrade this time. I have very fine hair, but a lot of it, so my hair tends to look frizzy and untamed. This dryer has been wonderful. My hair dries just as fast as before, but now it is smoother and stays more uniform. The dryer is not too loud either and I don't think its heavy.

This unit was very economical and meets all expectations. Noise: On high speed it is only slightly louder than other dryers at their lowest speed (in between noise of lowest and medium speed of a Conair 1875 dryer). Airflow: On high speed it is about the same airflow as the Conair at medium speed. Drying time: On high speed it is about the same drying time as the Conair on the highest speed and heat setting. Frizz/Shine: This dryer makes my wife's hair almost (but not quite) as straight/smooth as when she uses a straightening iron, and is slightly shinier than with the Conair dryer. So overall the performance/function is excellent. There were no overheating issues some described with one of the other Andis dryers (the red one). I'm not sure about longevity, but I imagine it will be very similar to all the other 9 dozen Chinese dryers on the market. After a trip to Target and seeing no real difference in design or robustness between all the dryers in the store (priced from $25 to $140), the only thing that will set them apart is actual performance and functional advantages, and this Andis unit excels in that area.

I'm happy because my wife no longer wakes me up with her hair dryer. She's happy because it drys her hair just as quickly as her old dryer. It is a marriage saving device. Not the same air-flow as other dryers, but the ionic and the ceramic allow it to dry just as fast.

Customer Review: Good dryer except for the warranty
The dryer does a good job as a dryer. The retracting feature on the cord failed within a couple of months. Andis warranty requires that the buyer pays for shipping it in, plus $6.50 to cover their handling. That should come to about the cost of buying a new one. Which I won't. I will go with another brand that really backs their products.

I have been using my new hair dryer for a few months now. I bought it because of the folding handle and retractable cord ( neither of which has caused me any trouble) but what most impresses me is how quickly it dries my hair, even my daughter who has enough hair for 10 people was impressed with it's speed of drying her hair.
